Meet Our Team

Dr. Yotam Hod

Yotam Hod, founder of Reinvent Education, is an Associate Professor (Sr. Lecturer) at the University of Haifa Faculty of Education and Head of the Educational Technologies Graduate Program, and currently serves as a member of the International Society of the Learning Sciences board. He is a former Marie Curie Fellow and recipient of the Mordechai Nisan Early Career Research Award in Education.

Prof. Sharona T. Levy Copy

My prime interests are in facilitating and studying people's learning about complex systems; and, restructuring conceptual knowledge in science for deeper and easier learning. Three strands run throughout my research in the learning sciences: (a) People’s thinking about complex systems and how this thinking can be supported and advanced; (b) Restructurations of conceptual domains in science to increase learners’ access to deeper scientific knowledge; (c) Harnessing complexity to address individual and social problems.

Dr. Sarit Barzilai

Dr. Sarit Barzilai is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Learning and Instructional Sciences in the Faculty of Education of the University of Haifa, Israel. Her principal interest is investigating how to promote learners' epistemic growth so that they are better able to cope with the challenges of twenty-first century knowledge societies. Dr. Barzilai is a recipient of the International Society of the Learning Sciences Early Career Award, the Journal of the Learning Sciences Best Paper Award, and the EARLI Outstanding Publication Award.

Dr. Keren Aridor

Keren Aridor is a Post-Doctoral student at the University of Haifa Faculty of Education. Her primary research interest is students’ statistical reasoning about context and data while making informal statistical inferences.

Shiri Kashi

Shiri Kashi has many years of experience as a software developer in Israel's Hitech industry, as well as pedagogiical expert as an instructor within the Educational Technologies Graduate Program at the University of Haifa. She serves as manager of the LINKS Future Learning Space (FLS) and as the Partnership and Collaboration Director at the Haifa Innovation Labs.

Sahar Tueg

Sahar is a Phd student in the faculty of education, at the department of learning and teaching sciences on a Direct track. Her research interests are Humanistic Knowledge Building communities, and gender equity in education. She is a lead researcher on a ministry education grant research project implementing a learning community model in a public middle school. She also designed the reinvent education website.

Prof. Dani Ben-Zvi

Dani Ben-Zvi is a Professor of statistics education and educational technology in the Faculty of Education at the University of Haifa, Israel, Head of the Department of Learning and Instructional Sciences, Faculty of Education, Member of the Educational Technologies Graduate Program and Member of the Mathematics Education Graduate Department.

Prof. Alona Forkosh-Baruch

Prof. Alona Forkosh-Baruch is a senior faculty member and coordinator of international studies at Levinsky-Wingate Academic College. She also serves as a researcher at Tel Aviv University at the Science and Technology in Education. Her research interests include topics which intersect between technology, humans and education, such as: new literacies in the information era, technology implementation in K12 and teacher education, innovative pedagogical practices using technology, online and hybrid modes of education, and entrepreneurship in education and teacher education.

Dr. Sarit Szpiro

Dr. Sarit Szpiro's research is focused on finding new ways to enhance people's abilities with training and technology. With an academic background in both perceptual learning and attention and assistive technologies in the field of human-computer interaction, Dr. Szpiro and her team are exploring innovative ways that new technologies can help people with disabilities. Team members characterize the real-world challenges people with disabilities face in order to develop the most effective assistive technologies (from shopping, mobility, and identifying facial expressions). They are using augmented reality, eye tracking, voice and sound technologies to develop new technologies that improve real life challenges.

Dr. Keren Kaplan Mintz

Dr. Kaplan Mintz is a researcher and lecturer in the Department of Learning and Instructional Sciences in the Factulty of Education Shamir Research Instittute, the University of Haifa. Dr. Kaplan Mintz research focuses on environmental psychology, environmental education, citizen science, and educational psychology. In her research she searches for individual as well as social and cultural determinants of environmental significant behavior, and investigates the inluence of contact with nature on emotional well-being.

Liat Rahamim

Read less Liat Rahmian is a Ph.D. student at The Department of Learning and Instructional Science at the University of Haifa. She is an experienced teacher’s instructor for the implementation of innovative pedagogies of learning communities and interdisciplinary teaching. She is leading a research team that focuses on integrating aspects of human identity, interest, curiosity, and growth as part of learning and lifelong engagement.

Adiel Benjamin

M.A student at The Department of Learning and Instructional Science at the University of Haifa. B.A in Learning technologies from HIT. Learning Developer and instructor at 'krembo wings' Socio-Educational knowledge center for inclusive education.

Prof. Yael Kali

Yael Kali is a Professor at the University of Haifa, and a fellow of the International Society of the Learning Sciences since 2021. She is the founding director of two Israeli centers of research excellence—Learning In a NetworKed Society and Taking Citizen Science to School, where she explores technology-enhanced learning and teaching especially within networks of research-practice-partnerships.

Prof. Lily Orland-Barak

Lily Orland-Barak is a professor at Haifa University in the faculty of education. Her research interests lie in the areas of mentoring and the development of expertise, learning by professionals and learning in the workplace in educational contexts. She is also the Executive Editor of Teachers and Teaching: Theory and Practice journal an an Associate Editor at the Journal of Teacher Education, the journal of Teaching and Teacher Education and the International Journal of Mentoring and Coaching in Education.

Dr. Haggai Kupermintz

Dr. Kupermintz's research focuses on empathy in intergroup contexts and more broadly in education, as well as higher-order skills. Lately, he is engaged in scholarly and practical efforts of systemic implementation of social and emotional learning (SEL). His expertise includes research methodology and educational assessment and evaluation.

Yuval Segev

A maker education teacher and researcher. Established one of the first Maker Education programs in an Israeli public school. Involved in Maker teacher trainings. As a researcher, especially interested in the Design and Orchestration of Maker Learning.

Daniel Twersky

Daniel is a PhD student the Educational Technologies Graduate Program in the education faculty of Haifa University. with the guidance of Dr. Yotam Hod, their main research focus are the learning processes and their outcomes using a unique technological tool called AR Sandbox, as a learning tool in geospatial subjects.
